..by a company called first credit who say they have purchased the alledged debt. I have asked them to provide substantiation of their claim including credit agreement and audited accounts but so far they just keep pestering I am not intending to visit the CAB just yet and issued a section 7 request cc in The Registrar for Data Proctection and sent recoreded delivery.

What can I do to make them comply with my request I do not have the docs anymore to prove I have paid.

Did you pay these debts by cheque or credit card? If you paid by cheque contact your bank quickly and ask for back copies of your bank statements or cheques payable to a certain company around the dates when you believe the debts were settled. They hold archived records for up to 7 years. If you paid by cash then I don't see how you can provide proof unless you were given a receipt at the time. For future protection, always settle your debts via a cheque or internet banking so that records are retained by your bank.
