HI,
I have had my plec for a month or so, in a 60ltr tank along side two goldfish and a apple snail.
The plec has been happy and feeding well.
Last night it was out and about in the tank and came out to feed as usual.
This morning, the plec was in his usual place under a piece of bog wood, I saw one of the gold fish nudge the plec and it didn't move....
I put the net in and found the plec was dead.
I have taken the plec out, it looks in very good health, and seeing it last night I never would have thought there was anything wrong.
The tank is a well est tank with living and artificial plants, and my two gold fish are thriving to say the least, and the snail is also well too.

Any ideas....

Thanks in advance...............audiTT.

I am sure someone will come up with a proper answer but, I have had my tank for about 4yrs now and a few times I have had fish die for no apparent reason and also to dissappear from the tank. (NO! they have not jumped out).
What type of plec was it? butterfly plecs are the only ones are the cold water type if you got the trop kind then the water temp could be to low for it and it ate food that it couldn't digest properly due to the low temp and so it rotted inside him and killed him. that the only explanation I can think of. sorry
What is a plec??
