Should you prepare a banquet of the type of stodge suggested by some of my learned colleagues, please be prepared for the inevitable results. They will include: sustained (and decidedly unromantic) belching, followed by repeated, and obvious flatulence, and finally, the 'coup de grace' falling asleep on the couch and snoring, loudly!
Is this the type of evening you had in mind?
a yarking great mixed grill pinky. meat from everything that walks. fried slices and tommy sauce. with tea, in a mug NOT a cup. and keep it coming!!
Liguine alla vongol (Pasta with clams)

Ciabatta or Garlic bread (if you both eat it!)

your favourite Red wine

Chocolate proffiteroles or raspberry meringue rouldade

Enjoy!!

You can tell I've been married a long time: To me, a sexy, romantic meal is anything my husband shops for, preps, cooks and cleans up after. **heaven**
seasona veg (buy prepared and then you don't have to do a thing, i like new pots, baby corn, asparagas and julienne carrots this time of year)

2 salmon fillets put ina microwaveable container with a few tablespoons of water and they microwave in about 5 minutes.

you could do panchetta and mellon for a starter with breadsticks

you could do a chocolate mousse for pudding: eggs, chocolate, cream. whip it all up and it doesn't even need baking or gelatine. Alternatively, you could do cheese and biscuits and this needs no making.

wine wine wine

chocolates and retire to drawing room

Preparation time for this meal would be about 30 minutes if you do the chocolate mousse and about 15 minutes if you do cheese. not including shopping time of course.

also minimal washing up as you could do all the veg in one pan and a steamer.

have anice evning
So..... what did you actually have then bird?! xx
