I agree that drink changes behaviour but I refute that it changes opinions. If I drink too much, I can become loud, obnoxious, crude, aggressive and argumentative (which is why I don't drink to excess). However, my arguments are still the same as when sober - I argue against racists, homophobes etc. Nor have I ever heard like-minded, drunken friends coming out with racist, homophobic remarks, no matter how otherwise offensive their behaviour has become.
