Is it possible for a dog or cat to have a severe allergic reaction (i.e. anaphylactic shock) to something like nuts or bee stings?

allergic reaction to bee stings can happen in dogs and cats but ive not known it tohappen with peanuts

Thanks for your answer - I've never heard of it with nuts either, but couldn't think of any reason why people would react badly and animals wouldn't - not that I give my dog nuts anyway!
