how about a years subscription to her favorite magazine or presuming her site is still ok a nice jig saw or take her on a picnic to local beauty spot or visit to a stately home.
My mum (95-and-a-half-years-young!) likes nothing better than some beautiful, bright flowers; she says they 'cheer her day' every morning.
Also think about matching warm (for the winter, you know!) gloves, hat and scarf.

she does like pot plants very much, and a big crossword puzzlebook would go down well, as she does them to keep her mind active, and going out for afternoon tea on sunday would be well received.

a little spiral notebook of 90 pages with an annual (the main) thought, photo, song lyric, highlight etc. through each year. It'll take some research and family contribution. I've never done it myself, just came to me now!.
