One of the Gurkhas interviewed yesterday at the march past said he is going to climb Everest, this with no legs, an extraordinary man.

not so much the ladders but their location, the Khumbu icefall, which does what it says on the tin. the blocks of ice are the size of houses but are anything but "as safe as". scary stuff.
