The title says it all really. What are your choices for the best ever quiz on telly? Mine choice for best would have to be University Challenge when Bamber Gascoigne was the host. So much more knowledgable (and less rude to the contestants) than Jeremy Paxman. As for the worst I would go for The Weakest Link as there is so much wrong with the programme - namely Anne Robinson, the number of questions that are open to several answers not to mention the number of times that the answers given are wrong, the fact that so often the person voted off is NOT the weakest link .......I'll stop there!!

Have to agree with both your choices . Think the next worst "quiz " show must have been Deal or no deal , with Noel Edmunds making sure the camera was on him all the time .
Celebrity Who wants to be a Millionaire has to be a contender for the worst. They always - well nearly always - seem a lot thicker than the 'normal' contestants. Suppose it's worth watching for the amusement value of that, but not for much more
I thoroughly enjoy The Weakest Link. I think Anne Robinson's brilliant. Obviously, it's not an intellectual quiz, but purely for entertainment value, nothing beats it. Some of the answers given are so, SO wrong, and it can be absolutely hilarious. My only complaint is that the one voted off is often not the weakest link. I'm not keen on the tactical voting, and am always pleased when contestants play the game fairly, and the best one wins.
I agree that the worst one is The Weakest Link, especially when they vote off the strongest link and say "It is girl power, Anne"!! I also dislike Eggheads, where the Eggheads sometimes seem to get the easier questions. The best one was Fifteen to One, with William G. Stewart, I do not know why they took it off.
Test the nation, because you only just have enough time to record your answer, & it's your knowledge not out of a book or on the internet, the worst Blockbusters.
