Is there a difference between a John Lewis gift card and a pre paid shop card? I was told that there is an expiry date for gift cards but not pre paid shop cards and I was wondering if this was true?

John Lewis gift cards (and e-gift cards, where the recipient gets an email with a code in it) remain valid for 24 months if not used at all. However using some of the credit on a card to buy an item, or simply checking the balance on a card, restarts the 24 month period. I don't understand what you mean by a 'pre paid shop card' though.
