Okay, I went to the doctor about my back yesterday. What I didnt mention on AB was that I have been in a lot of pain walking for the past 3 weeks, and couldnt even touch the back of my feet without it really hurting. So told doctor and asked if that was contributing to bad back. Examined me and he says I have tendonitis . Has given me analgesic cream to use 3 times a day, and pain killers and told me take 2 weeks off work (impossible) and to rest my feet up as much as possible.

Not wanting to Google anything, has anybody any advice on tendonitis, will it be a long term thing, do I really have to rest up that much as that is going to be so difficult to do. But it is soooo painful : (

The drug treatment given by your doctor is fine.

If the diagnosis is correct then it should settle within 3 weeks.

If you can't take 2 weeks off work, then you can't.
.
Gentle exercise should do no harm

Oh thats great Sqad - as helpful as ever! What would we do without you?
LOL.....without me?

Too devastating to imagine.

Lol I know, the consequences would be dire! : )
Get well soon Smow.
Putting my ex-sports shop head on, you may also havve to look at your choice of footwear, Smow.

You might have to spend a bit of time in something like a running shoe (IF you're not wearing anything like it at the moment). The more cushioning you can get under your feet the better they will feel.

Thanks Tony, think I will be needing extra massages ; )

Judge - yes I think you may be right, I have been living in flat pumps and flip flops, and the fact that our house is also mainly wooden flooring means my feet have had barely any cushioning at all.
LOL, I thought so Smow, so I've ordered some extra WD40 and Swarfega.
Seriously though hope you start to feel better soon. x

Its ok Tony, I have crawled to the kitchen and found Sunflower oil, runny honey and Marmite, so take your pick! : )
Mmmmmm, a very interesting cocktail, Smow lol.

Cocktails? Now they would go nicely with the massage : )
Righto Smow, I will ask mamya, she has some very interesting tailcock reciepies !
I could go into more detail, Smow, but I'd bore you rigid and I have an appointment to keep!

If you don't run, you might start with a gel heel cup (You might be better off lifting up the insole and put the heel cup underneath - they can feel a little odd on bare feet). Or you can go to a full insole that will have gel in the heel AND forefoot. If you do run, you might have to go a specialist shop and have your GAIT analysed. If you overpronate (Your arch collapses - think of walking behind a girl wearing UGG boots and the soles are at a funny angle, almost like her arches are touching the tarmac) you might need a different type of shoe (Adidas Response Stability, Asics Gel Virage, Asics GT2170 or a Nike shoe with DYNAMIC SUPPORT stamped along the midsole).

Again, if you do run, you might have to take it easy for a couple of weeks to let any inflammation or pain subside before you start up again.

Excellent idea Tony!
When I had plantar fasciitis on the sole of my foot I got a pair of trainers from Sports Direct with a thick curved very bouncy sole and they were brilliant! Only cost me about £12 too!
Question Author
I have plantar fasciitis in right foot too lol. Sound well healthy dont I.
Aww, it's horrible isn't it! :( These are the ones I got though a bit more expensive but they always seem to have all kinds of deals on in the store.

Ahh I see what you mean - a more raised heel than a normal trainer. Ideal for daytime.
