What are Nephilum? They are mentioned in the Bible. Does it say in the Bible when Satan was no longer an Angel of God? If so where.

Isaiah Chapter 14 deals with Satan's fall from heaven. In the Authorised Version of the Bible, Verse 12 specifically says: "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground."

I cannot find a reference to 'Nephilum' either in the copious index at the back of my huge Family Bible or on Crosswalk, a usually-reliable website on biblical information. Are you sure you've spelt it correctly? Perhaps Cetti - who has forgotten more about the Bible than I ever knew - will be along soon to help you out on that one.

"In Hebrew lore, the nephilim stood for giants of primeval times; also as fallen angels or their offspring who cohabited with the daughters of men, as in Genesis 6".....(Gustav Davidson, A Dictionary of Angels).
The nephilum were meant to be great big geezers from the dawn of history. i seem to remember them incurring God's wrath for turning their backs on him,and using technology of some kind.
Taxing my memory here, but I remembering learning at school that they were, unlike seraphim and cherubim, "anti-angels", supported Lucifer and fell with him from grace. They then went around mating with humans to create more satanic types. A search using the correct spelling would turn up more. Maybe Ripley's Believe it or not could do a show about it.
Not forgotten QM never knew!! I claim total ignorance regarding Nephilum, or is it Nephilums? It must be a word not used in my Bible - the NIV.

Satan is a lot easier to answer. QM has already given you the verse in Isaiah, Netty, but there is also the reference in Luke10 v 18 where Jesus says" I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven" . Satan was once part of the inner circle surrounding God's throne and was worship leader of the heavenly choir until he became proud - and was instantly booted out with his followers(demons) to roam the earth until the Day of Judgement.

PS. How have you managed to keep your Family Bible QM - our disintegrated years ago with a little help from silver fish!!

Dear Cetti, there's no date information - printed or otherwise - in my Bible. It just isn't one that ancestors have written in birth, wedding and death dates, for example, so there is no real 'family' aspect to it. It weighs almost a stone...kilos don't mean a thing to me...and it was printed by Blackie in Edinburgh...would it be too nationalistic to say that Scottish things are "built to last"? Cheers
Yes it would.
Nevertheless, Your Grace, it has the inestimable advantage over Cetti's of still being around! (It was a joke, by the way.)
what's a stone in kilos anyway?
