Hi Sqad. I just wanted your opinion on something.

A few days ago I had a mini bleed, which I took to be an early period. My period is actually not due until this coming weekend and they are back to being fairly regular now.

However, since the bleed a few days ago, I've had no further bleeding and certainly no period. I am a bit concerned about bleeding in between periods given the family history and my own history of colposcopy at 21.

I've had premenstrual symptoms - painful breasts and raging mood - so would assume a period is not far away. I also lost about 10lbs over just 4 days - but that was down to doing the much praised ketogenic diet.

Thoughts?

Well two things come to mind:
1) that was a normal period (small because of your ketogenic diet)
2)could you be pregnant again?

As a one off, no big deal, but see what happens in the next few weeks.
Question Author
Sqad, it wasn't a period. The blood was pink and pale and watery.

Chance of pregnancy is slim to none. We have been very careful.

I have a smear booked for next week.
OK...it wasn't a period and you are not pregnant, then there is little that i can suggest at this stage.
My advice still remains....monitor the situation.

NoM....no offence but why are you doing silly diets?
Question Author
It's not a silly diet and it's been shown to increase brain power, as well as help shift unwanted weight. The fact is I was reading about the diet and it's a way to eat all the things I really like. I don't feel comfortable after eating carbs, I eat limited meat anyway and I like fish. The diet suits me and I've had more energy than I've had in ages.

I'm not "NoM" anymore, and I'm sure you'd be the first to criticise me if I called your mate by her former name.
I had a weird mini period late when I came back from the US in June, then my normal period appeared to come early but was in fact back to it's usual cycle, threw me off somewhat to say the least.
Do a test anyway , a pale bleed like you describe could be implantation. Nature has a way of confounding the most careful of us

You've got me scared now! OH is never permitted entry unless he's dressed for the occasion, but stranger things have happened...

In any case it would be too early to take a test. I need to actually miss my period first.

Kval - long haul flights are known for bringing on a PV bleed.

I'm really worried now. Having mulled things over since yesterday I've realised that I've had backache, mood swings, sore breasts, intense headache, vivid dreams, a tiny, pale bleed, food aversion and mild nausea without any sickness. My skin is way too glowy for this time of the month. Normally my face is puffy and my skin is dull just before P-day.

But we really have been so careful. My mind is all over the place now. :(
Oh well, you might get a real one next time a whingeing screamer not a little angel that sleeps a lot of the time.....
Question Author
The little angel is currently on his playmat screaching like a banshee on helium.
Hehehehe
There are tests available that you can use 5 days before your expected period.
Good morningy CG.
Do a pregnancy test next week and all will be revealed.....one way or another.
Question Author
I've checked the calendar and P day is actually tomorrow. I'm on flipping tenterhooks now.
^^^ ;-)
As are we now..... I hope you get the answer you want either way
Question Author
False alarm - you can breathe a sigh of relief.

Hopefully my smear will be all clear too.
Hoooooray!.
Thanks for the feedback.
