can anybody, please, help solve a problem?
I have just washed a pair of light blue trousers which before washing had no stains on - they are now covered in brown stains!!
I do gardening in them and wondered if they could have some plant sap (or something) on them which I could not see which has stained on washing?
Anybody any ideas? Thanks.
I'd like to know for future reference as do not want it to happen again.

Yes, many plant saps will stain like that, if I were you I would keep an old pair of trousers for the garden. You could re-trace what you were doing and try to find the culprit or culprits, trying the various saps on old cloth, but I think wearing something you don't mind about is the answer. H.

thanks Horty.
I usually wear fairly dark trousers for gardening so have not come across this before. I don't expect it shows up on them when they are washed.
Have been cutting down blackberries in the lane and think they might be the culprit!
Will try your idea on an old cloth and also stick to old dark trousers!
Thanks again
