It's Saturday night (or, for pedants, Sunday morning) and WAY too early to go to bed.

So if you're feeling a little sleepy, here's something from The Refreshments that's sure to wake you up ;-)

No me. I want to go to bed I'm tired. But there has been a flipping helicopter going overhead since 8.30 this evening, round and round. It's Brighton Pride this weekend so must be something to do with that. Ba Humbug!
Lively! Ta Chris.

We get used to helicopters around here, LB. I live about 4 miles from the Army's largest helicopter base, so we get them flying over almost constantly.
Like that, Chris.
However when I do ( eventually ) go to bed I don't want to wake up until Wednesday morning c'us I've got a couple of days off.

Thanks, Mamya.

I love The Refreshments. Every band member is a superb musician.

Thanks, Tony.

Not heading to the beach (or, more likely, a beach-side bar) then?
I don't know how you put up with it Chris, least of all at night. All I want to hear at is the owls calling to each other.
Not this time, Chris. Just want to chill away from work for a few day's.
Liking it, Chris. :-)

Thanks, Pasta!

Enjoy your break, Tony.
Just watched Henning Wehn/Kevin Bridges/Mickey Flannigan, fast forwarding the adverts (except the Sky one that I'll be phoning about tomorrow) so, no, I don't need waking up but I do have a VERY large Soberano on the go with a fresh can so give me a nudge about quarter past. :-)
Question Author
Soberano?

Straight? On the rocks? With a mixer?

It never seems right to me to add anything to any brandy (except, possibly, port) but I have to admit to having enjoyed a few brandies with something added to them over the years.

You've just reminded me that I've got some Franziskaner Weissbier that's in need of opening though ;-)
Straight, but unfortunately without the heat and atmosphere of Calle Marques de Campo, Chris. :-)
Question Author
You might find a little too much heat there at the moment, Douglas!

All you need's a gentle breeze to offset the headline temp.

I'll give a more considered opinion when Camelot coughs up. :-)

I was in Madrid (for three days) around this time of year three years ago, with daytime temperatures up to 38C, and I loved it.

It was dry, arid heat, with restaurants using misting systems to add moisture to the air on their patios. I came back to the UK, where temperatures were at least 10C cooler, and I couldn't stand it (because of the humidity).

So, assuming that it's dry heat, I might actually enjoy Valencia at the moment.
To borrow a tagline, "bliss".

Denia specifically.
