Which is the more effective pain killer? I was using Anadin Extra until my dentist told me to get Ibuprofen, but I don’t find that nearly as effective, which surprises me because Ibuprofen seems to be what everyone recommends. Is it just me?

Another option I have found is to add in an old type antihistamine the sort that makes you a bit drowsy, but only if you are not going to drive or operate heavy machinery of course. This was suggested by a pain control nurse who described it as taking the patient away from the pain when you can't take the pain away from the patient. It is also safer than using conventional sedative meds like diazepam. And you can buy piriton over the counter.
Sqad, it was me, not Jackdaw, who mentioned the alleged risk for over-60s. But I got it from the warning on the package, not from the internet.
