Do you have any idea yet as to what your destiny/fate could be?

I think for the most part you make your own destiny. You have to be clear what you really want, you have to be brave, you have to take chances and you have to be clear what your own moral code is and yes I've decided exactly what my destiny will be, now let's just see if I can make it happen :)

No I think lots of *** things happen to nice people and no gameplay could have altered it.
I have a feeling that when my ship comes in I'll be at the airport.

Now this *IS* interesting.
Today, I have just attended the last session of a 6 month 'thinking skills' course run by mental health services. The last few sessions have been about dismantleing beliefs that disempower you and the belief that we have no control over 'fate' was one of those.
Im still in 2 minds over a lot of stuff that was discussed but this thread is interesting for the ideas being discussed.

Personally, Ive had NO control over my genetics, brain chemistry, upbringing etc but do have the belief/idea that I have a say in how it all plays out.
It's what will happen. You make the choices that you inevitably will make because you are you; the rest of the world does similar. Each effect each other causing you to have the experience you will have.
I'm possibly looking at it less deeply. You have little say in whether you get cancer, hit by a drunk driver, go blind, get robbed, fall in love with a cheating partner, work with a psychotic batch - if you get my drift..
Yes, I get ur drift Prudie. I bought similar things up in group discussion.
(Im a Gemini...look at things from BOTH sides, lol)
Humans aren't the only animals on the planet. If our fate is mapped out, then so it the fate of every dog, cat, frog, fish, ant etc which I find hard to believe.
I agree with that Prudie, you have no choice over disease, if you're parents are great or abusive, who you fall in love with even, but you can then evaluate and make those scenarios work in your best interests and extricate yourself from anything which is damaging or not working for you, that's what I mean by deciding what you want to happen and making it happen, clearly there are variables we have no control over.
You do have some choice over disease and you can mitigate your risk.
You could possibly reduce the risk by a few percent in seven lower percentage of illness. Most of it is bad luck.
..even..
I'm still waiting to find out - and meanwhile I am living it and still striving for new heights and directions and hoping for the best. Looking back, my life has been a patchwork, I've accepted that, patchworks can be very beautiful.
People are largely masters of their own destiny and can make their own dreams come true, but really only when life dealt them a fair hand to begin with. For me to achieve my dreams, I've just got to work my cobblers off for the next 20 years or so. Had I not had a troubled upbringing, two parents who were nice human beings and met my current partner before the wazzocks I wasted too much of my life on I might have realised those dreams 10 years ago,

People can also be the architects of their own downfall and choose to go down the wrong path. That's not destiny or divine intervention, it's a life choice.
That’s A little bit condescending to those with alcohol / drug related problems, NoM.
