The flywheel pulley disintegrated on the motorway last week. After fitting a new pulley and belt the car will not start. It turns over but will not fire.
I have a feeling it could be something eletrical. Would a scan reveal the problem.
I thought about getting a mobile mechanic/electrician out to have a look at it. How much do they charge?
Any body have an answer.

hi, i think im right in saying that the the engine timing is now out, are you sure the the rest of the engine is ok,
i know when you have the cambelt changed you have to be careful not to move the camshaft and the crank as this ******* up the timing,
how did you get the car home, aa/rac recovery
did they give you an idea of what was wrong with it,, if not, if you have home start with aa/rac, get them to come and have a look, if they wont fix it, they will take you to a repair garage, who will know how to set the timing back up, and tell you if the engine has been damaged

The pulley is on a heyway and will only go on one way. As far as I know it has nothing to do with the timing. The cambelt was replaced about a month ago and it was runnig fine up until last week.
The injector pump timing does not matter with it being a HDi. It is simply a high pressure pump, the injection sequence is electronic.
I have just spoke to one bloke who thinks it might be th immobiliser that has kicked in. Any ideas how to disable it
u asked about this last week didnt u?? now 50 quid doesnt seem so bad now eh? i wouldnt think the immobiliser would have kicked in coz of this make sure a bit hasnt got trapped and made the timing belt jump a tooth or two, or has it damaged a crank position sensor dont know if the sensoris there but its worth a try
