Thunder flies

Any way of clearing them ? Outside on the patio they drop into the drinks and onto the food.They get everywhere,can't stop itching.Is there a way to get rid ? Insect repellents don't seem to work !

everyone is asking this, I tried insect repellent it did not work, and yes they are itchy, they have drove me crazy over the last 3 weeks, But aparently once they cut the corn, they will dimminish....i bloody hope so cos i have more than you i think......sodding things and what is its perpuse?

Try taking a massive dump, in the corner of your garden. then they'll have somewhere else to hang out
