When i am driving my sat nav seems to cut out why ?

Ours does this also i think it is when there arent enough satellietes to give you a signal, ours always come back after 1-2 minutes
The sat-nav works on an almost line-of-sight signal from satellites. If there are trees or tall buildings round about, some of the satellites may be screened from view, and your receiver can't work out a position fix.
Mine does it too and usually at a critical point on our journey. Very frustrating
in this weather,it will do it,i dont know why,but is does
