I had an annoying situation with my housing association repairs team. I have been sent a letter of unacceptable behaviour and told that they will only deal with me via email. I reported a repair in the morning and I phoned in the afternoon to find out the progress of it. The 2nd person could not find it and was exceptionally slow after 10 minutes of dealing with her I called her a "silly cow" and I put the phone down. Apparently that is highly offensive and inappropriate, I mean there are a heck of a lot worse than that I could have said to her I think this is over the top nobody seems to take any form of abuse now 30 years ago this never would have happened. What do others think?

Please think it through, if you get a reputation then it won't look good for future dealings.
One things for sure. You're not going to be on the top of the council's list when you need repairs carried out!
//Gness, you must realise that arguing with Geordie is like trying to make a monkey recite the Lord’s Prayer. Ie, pointless.\\

Who's being rude now?
I guess you're right, Zacs....just got my dander up a little.....being polite and chatty gets a person much more help than rudeness. That attitude will be passed on to others who need to deal with Gordie and do him no favours......x
I didn’t start it.
Unlike you, Gness. I’ve learnt to view Geordie’s post with a little..........circumspection.

Gordie is Jewish ^^^ ? ;o)
LOL!!!
Rude, Jackdaw? Not at all......Zacs was advising me......with some humour.

Bang out of order!!
if you'd said that to someone's face 30 years ago you'd have risked getting a swift slap in the chops. It was rude then, it's rude now. Hang up if you must, but skip the name-calling.
We all get frustrated but it always pays to pause and think how your rude riposte may affect the other person and also how it will affect any further communication.

On a daily basis we take digs, a repeated and boring reference to a cartoon halo or a likening to a Sainted woman you can't abide for example - that sort of thing, I can shrug those off, but some folks may find it harder.
“I reported a repair in the morning and I phoned in the afternoon to find out the progress of it.”

So in a matter of a couple of hours or so you have become so frustrated with the progress of your matter that you feel the need to vent your spleen on somebody trying to help you with it.

In the real world (i.e. in the world where you would have to find and engage a tradesman yourself and pay for the privilege) if you engaged with your tradesman’s receptionist in such a way you would probably find yourself looking for another one fairly rapidly.

People make mistakes, things don’t always get handled as promptly and quickly as you might like. But people doing their jobs are entitled to a little civility. You’ll find in the long run it serves you better as they will be more inclined to help you out. This is not a modern phenomenon. Civility has always been the norm for most people but recently more people seem to believe it is OK to abuse anybody who upsets them in the tiniest way.
You have put yourself in the sin bin and your card has been marked with your housing association I suggest you try to redeam yourself by writing a letter of apology as you may find yourself at the back of the queue when it comes services you receive
Gordie - we all can become frustrated in this life but you do not call anybody names for doing their job.

"stick and stones may break my bones but names should never hurt you" - but they do.
