Hi
I have always suffered from monthly sore breasts with my cycle, but recently they permanently feel like they have just been punched really hard and are bruised - especially my left one. I have checked them, they are both quite hard and lumpy, but both feel the same - there are no abnormalities i can feel on either one and my boyf has checked too. they are just incredibly tender! its been the last month-6 weeks.
have docs appointment but not til next week - anyone any ideas?
thank you

Hi Pagey,

I heard that primrose oil is pretty good for pains like this, I don't know if it's true or not. I don't know why it happens or anything but if it's true about the primrose oil it might give you some relief until your GP appointment.

There's no chance you're pregnant is there? Sorry to be personal but I thought breasts could be painfull in the first stages of pregnancy too.

Yep, that would be my bet, test test test. My boobs hurt like mad in the first trimester.

oh god don't say that!!!
it did cross my mind but i am on the pill, am very careful wih it in terms of using extra precautions when on atibiotics or if i miss one, or have the slightest stomach upset! i had my last period about 2 weeks ago and they have been hurting since long before then. I will test though...eek!
Oooh... sorry Pagey, keep us posted.

will do - in the mean time i'm off to get some evening primrose oil and keeping my fingers (and legs!) crossed!
Pagey, keep and eye on them for any changes up until your appointment. I get the same feeling every so often, you know the bruised feeling and it is really horrible. I keep an eye on mine.
I suffer from lumpy boobs which are caused by cists - my mum as had the condition for over 20 years and gets hers checked all the time.
My doctor did a biopsy on them which sounds painful but really isnt.
The last time I went for a check up he said no nothing too bad there, and nothing needed to be done. But he did say that the type of bra one wears can affect the breast. So also make sure that your bra is a well fitted one and you get measured by a professional - says Katie who is still squeezing into her old off white numbers!
Hope it all goes ok for you
It may well be the pill causing this pain, as being on the pill is instructing your body to be 'pregnant' therefore you can experience pregnancy symptoms (lack of periods being one of them!).

I know how you feel as when I was on the pill & pregnant I had this..it was agony :o(
Hi there,
I had the same problem as you and really dreaded my cycle but I have found this fab mineral tablet from seven seas.
They are called Hormonal balance and they have worked like a dream, I nolonger have sore boobs, tummy ache and I'm not as grumpy as I was before.
Try them they aren't very expensive and they are natural,no chemicals.
let me know how you get on
