Everytime the gas boiler fires up the tv blacks out.....why?

When you say "blacks out", do you mean flickers or goes off signal for a few seconds, or switches off? Think we would need to know how the tv is being fed signal to start with. But if it is say a peripheral set being fed via an av sender, the boiler switching on (as can a microwave oven) could temporarily interrupt reception.

I wonder if it could it be something to do with the radio-frequency? When electric hair clippers are used in our house the gas fire turns itself off. That's ok now because we know to turn it off before using the clippers but I don't know what you would have to do except call on a technician for help.
How many people use their mobiles in the doctor's waiting rooms, not realizing they could be interfering with the pacemakers that some people have. Then there is the importance of not using mobile phones on a petrol fore-court and mobile phones being used to detonate bombs .
