I'm new to the site and would really appreciate some help. I have paid a deposit for a holiday and the final payment is due shortly. I have recently developed some health issues and if they do not settle, my GP wants to refer me to a specialist. My problem is that at the time I pay the balance, I won't know if the health issues will prevent me travelling. Will my insurance company still refund the cost of the holiday if I can't travel? Will they say that I already knew about the issues and use this to deny payment?

It depends on the terms of your policy, but many will require you to notify them of any condition that is under investigation before you can claim on it.
When did you get the travel insurance - was it part of the whole package or did you get it independently? You would need to read the T&Cs

Thank you for your answers. I have an annual policy that I took out before I booked the holiday and which covers the dates of the holiday. I will check the T&Cs if I can find them!
