What is your personal preference on shampoo and conditioner? What would you say is the best NON - salon shampoo and/or conditioner you've bought?

I've got long dyed hair and have tried a lot as not a lot live up to my expectations. But have just bought Aussie shampoo and conditioner. I got the one called colour mate and it's quite possibly the best I have ever used.

Leaves the hair tangle free without weighing it down with too much conditioner which some brands do. And the smell is soo lush. Very natural and faint, not over poweringly artificial smelling.

I love the Aussi stuff too and it smells gorgeous.

At the moment I'm using Herbal Essences which has made my hair so lovely and soft I'm very impressed.

Tried the Fruit Fusions citrus lift as I have long fine hair then the one for coloured hair and they're both great.
it depends on your hair type, if you use a permanent dye on your hair it will never feel as silky and soft as it should, if your hair isnt blonde you would be better using a semi- permanent dye which realistically lasts as long as permanent as you would do a root dye every 6-8 wks, this is what my hairdresser told me as i dyed my hair dark and used a permanent which made my hair feel like crap and as soon as i switched to semi its great feels soft and silky regardless of what shampoo i use. but pantene layers shampoo and cond is very good if you have long layers.
once i was out of shampoo so i
used the dog's shampoo. my hair
came out soft and shiny and bounced
like a dogs tail. from then on i only
use dog shampoo to wash my hair.

DTH?
I use Tresemme for coloured hair, though I do love the shampoo and conditioner you buy from the hairdressers. The trouble is it's so expensive. I do have some in ready to take on my holidays as I think it's really good. Other than that I do find that after a while my hair 'gets used' to a shampoo and I have to change brands for a while.
The shampoo isn't so important and supermarket 'own brands' are suitable for coloured hair. Conditioner is important for the finish so I recommend l'oreal professional from a salon.
Pantene conditioner. As soon as you put it on you can feel all the tangles disappear. And it stops my hair going frizzy.
Aldi do one called Protane and its great very little difference between that and Pantene in my opinion apart from the price...

Spudqueen - I soo get what you mean about your hair getting used to the shampoo. I change brand every time I've used one up to get some variety.

Personally I can't stand Pantene. It smells like pond water and it makes my hair even worse to try and brush than if I'd used nothing at all.

Not keen on Tresemme either, it's just got this cheap feeling about it.

LOL @ Lajohn.... that's hilarious
my ideal hair products are from Aveda. smells lovely too.
trouble is their so expensive but your hair is in the best condition.
my hair is very thin, lank and coloured but after using Aveda.....the results are great.
I really like Head and Shoulders, since I used to suffer from dandruff when I was at school. The dandruff went away and I decided to use different shampoos and conditioners, but my hair never felt as soft and clean.

I switched back to Head and Shoulders Colour Care and it's great stuff and not as expensive as others. My hair always smells nice too.
