Morning guys. Just curious - a friend posted on FB asking who would be interested in buying her cakes/pies (she’s a keen baker).shes had tons of replies, and is already delivering and being paid for them. I mean LOADS of orders. I’m just a tad worried that’s shes meant to maybe have her kitchen inspected etc?? Am I wrong? I haven’t said anything yet btw as she’s so thrilled how well it’s going.

Next time she's talking about it, can't you just innocently ask her if she needs any certificates for that or is that only for big businesses?

It will make her think, maybe it hasn't even occurred to her.
A neighbour did this, and she had to be vetted as above. Not only that, as she delivered her car had to be passed too,
That's also a good point ferlew, she will need to add business use to her car insurance.

Anneasquith - jealous?? What a bizarre question. Jealous of what? Am confused.
Smow - get on with that tax return, it won't complete itself, you know!

I’m on hold lol
The age old law of 'if it doesn't affect you or harm anyone mind your own business' comes to mind.
She's not going to poison anyone, if her own family don't fall down dead regularly with food poisoning, and if she gets to the point where she's eligible to pay tax on what she's earns she'll have outgrown her kitchen and will be working out of a catering kitchen somewhere, so no need to concern yourself at all, except wish her all the success in the world with it.
Fear not goodgoalie, that task will be completed in the nick of time I'm sure.
I'm starving ... does she do pasties?
If it was me I would consider it part of the culling process of the human race. I wouldn't buy from her myself but the people who do must know the risks.........
A friend of mine done reflexology on 2 individual people - next got a letter from tax man - tip off from a neighbour. The people were her friends.

I too would pay the earth for lovely home made food
As I said if she's already working and earning over £11,500 she should declare it for tax purposes. Does she work? To assume she might never sell a dodgy pie is foolhardy.
Sorry, but if she doesn't realize she needs inspections, permits etc.etc. she must be daft. I wouldn't get involved if she's not a particularly good friend.
