A honest and straight forward apology from Trump, so lest say straight away, that its a very welcome development.

But he said, 3 times, that he knew nothing about Britain First....so why did he re-tweet their posts in the first place ? Didn't he realise that his actions would be seen as giving tacit support to BF ?

I don't think that BF should be taken seriously in any way at all. Praising BF in this way is like making it clear that while Mussolini was a fascist dictator, at least he made the trains run on time.

America First-----------Britain First. It's not difficult.

Forget all the stuff about the organisation and just see the names as equivalents for different countries.

Dougie...."America First" just means whatever Trump needs it to mean. At the moment, it appears to be protectionist policies.

But "Britain First" means a nasty, fascist, racist organisation.

Given Trumps lack of intellectual vigour, its easy to see why he didn't think it was worth researching, before he gave BF his support.
