I hate it when someone big in music dies. Pink Floyd were and are such a fantastic group, I have in the last few years rediscovered them. I remember growing up having to listen to my dads LP's and thinking they were strange but now older and I would like to think wiser, I now know they were/are/always will be superb. 'Wish you were here' is one of my favourite albums alongside 'Momentary lapse of reason'. What a shame they never got back together and what a shame such a legend has passed away. I so wish I was older so I would have had a chance to see them, would have been such an experience. I know some of you AB'ers have so come on share.... Wheres Andy I would imagine he has had a chance to?

Too many to list - its sad, I work with music and I just see all the 'cashing' in on it all and the people who still don't know who or what Pink Floyd are it annoys me slightly. I know not everyone has heard of everything (hmmmm) but I sometimes wonder if its lack of education from parents in the music department or ignorance. I just want to grab them and stick on Wish you were here and say right you dont have to like it but you do have to hear it.
Damn shame ...R.I.P. Syd x

Pink Floyd, I had the pleasure of seeing them at Earls Court in '94, they are and will be forever a group deeply set within my heart....

Syd Barrett R.I.P

Greedyfly, have you listened to 'On An Island' by Dave Gilmore?.... magic.....
I was also too young to see them in their 'hay day' but I did manage to get to see them at Earl's Court on their Division Bell tour. Just wow. Wow, wow, wow. There must be one more tour left in them.... there must be...
It's a pity, and his influence will live on. BUT in all fairness, it must be mentioned that he did only play on one album, and all the 'greatest' songs they did were played by Dave Gilmour.
What has Syd Barrett got to do with Pink Floyd since 1968?
One of my favourite songs of all time is - I know where syd Barrett lives, by the Television Personalities.
It just won't ever sound the same again.
