Absolute tragedy that a truck driver loses his life just doing his job. What I don't understand is the need to close the motorway for 8 hours and counting. I passed the incident going south this morning and there was some spilled load, but nothing that couldn't be cleared in an hour. I know the death must be investigated but the economy of the country can't afford this sort of chaos.

I've waited a while before replying as I knew I would be criticised. TWR, I never said inconvenience, I was referring to the damage to the economy. We will have to wait for the investigation, when I passed it looked like a large tipper was going on to the slip road when it was hit by one artic. I didn't see the third truck.
Sapelesam, I am familiar with that Junction, apart of the diversions this has caused it's a person's life, the time's I've had driving the things and the accidents caused by motorists either near missing their turnings, leaving it until the last mins, cutting in from the Outside lane across the 2 other lanes would open your eyes, I've seen a driver killed by the load of steel he was carrying due to an idiot in a car slapping his brakes on in front of him, motorist with no lights on in fog / heavy rain causing the HGV not to see him / her, accidents don't happen on a motorway they are caused, as I've said before how can an accident be when the traffic goes in one direction, no traffic light, right turns, it's stupidity, it will come out regards this accident as that area from the M58 has overhead traffic cameras so I should think the incident will be seen & recorded, I apologise if my reply was harsh.
I agree to some extent TWR, like the knight of the road on the M9 who tried to wipe me out by cutting in when a fair chunk of his trailer had yet to pass me.
Both vehicles speed limited to 56 so he had no need or indeed business overtaking in the first place, I guess his load pushing him up to about 58 for the 800 yard incline leaving himself out there in lane two (of two) where he got fed up or embarrassed and just pulled to the left leaving it up to me to take avoiding action.

Bad driving Douglas, the driver should have held back.
