Is wallpaper or painted walls the way to decorate at the moment Or is there something new ? Thanks ?

its a matter of taste, its easier to sell the house with just painted walls, in neutral colours.

Wall paper, especially patterned can make a room look too busy

My lounge walls have painted wallpaper, which I am replacing with leather/suede look wallpaper shortly. As razzy says it's a matter of taste and what you prefer.

My preferrance is for wallpaper. Painting is easier to apply,easier to change and probably cheaper,but to me,doesn't seem as homely.

well I have always loved wallpaper on my walls but this time I have painted over the wallpaper, and must admit I love it now. it looks so clean and bright.

Looks nice if you get a really jazzy wall paper on the main focal wall and have the rest painted in a contrasting colour.
