He's sitting in our front room watching Legend! ;o)
He's also an expert on useless chatter.
He is vulcan how did you know that?
Every time he opens his mouth.
I was talking about my OH, sorry :o)
Don't you just love it when Leaders of the Church start lecturing us, when they themselves live lives, wallowing in luxury and privilege ?

That was funny....thought I'd started a competition for the best old folk's home conversation......
Mazie! You're cruel.... ;-)

Indeed, Mikey.....I grew up being frightened of priests and nuns...when I was old enough to make up my own mind I simply turned my back on the Church.....now.....it makes my stomach turn....x
I was never more disgusted than the day I visited the Vatican museum and saw only a fraction of the priceless artefacts on display..given the poor and needy and the Catholic doctrine of helping others etc..a bit of humility and dispersal of these riches to those in need would be very much in keeping ..
useless individual preaching to the masses, can see how that is something to think about, or not..
I know ! ;o)
ERRR.. the biggest piece of useless baggage is on MY sofa playing on Facebook !!!
I may not be actually standing up for pope Francis, but go look around Buckingham palace !!!
anneasquith, the Royals are not preaching austerity to millions.
But he's not preaching austerity, or telling to get rid of our possessions. He's just saying we should have a bit of peace every day.
Not that I particularly want to defend the pope, mind you, but I don't think he's being hypocritical or anything like that.
Can he please tell people to look where they're going instead of being glued to their phone screens?
Vulcan, my argument is, I can decide if I donate/contribute to the obscene wealth of the Catholic church. Whereas I have no say in what I contribute to the queens personnel wealth.
He's quoted as referring to "the banality of consumerism", which suggests to me we buy less.
anneasquith, yes I accept that point.
The royals as a group are almost single-handedly keeping the tabloid press afloat with William's constant plunging and resulting offspring and Harry having found a suitably interesting burd.
