I want to know how much an hourly rate should be for freelance PR work. I haven't done any before, but I have done some freelance writing and research work on something else for the same person and he's said he was impressed with my work - hence the possibility of some freelance PR work.

I've looked up NUJ rates and know that they're generally considered too high, but I'm not sure how to calculate what I should be charging in my position. I was thinking 25 an hour as a possible starting point, but would a project fee be better? I don't know exactly what's involved in the work yet, as I want to have some idea of what my hourly rate might be before I start discussions.

Thanks; any suggestions appreciated!

Their is no fixed earning of a freelancer. The pay per hour depends on the quality of work as well urgency of the owner for the job completion.
I am not sure how much should be the hourly rate as most I've known are paid by number of words per article. If you're working on the same client, how about doubling your rate and try to negotiate it with your client.
