The beginning tune brings to mind Amazing Grace
I think it reminds me of R Kelly's Turn Back the Hands of Time which in turn reminds me of Unchaimed Melody....
It also reminds me at times of Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton
It's hard to tell because of the background noise from the hype-ometer.
Not great lyrically.
Ed outshines Beyonce. (IMO)
Sorry, I haven't listened to either of these all the way through, but once the Ed Sheeran/Beyoncé Perfect Duet gets going it reminds me of the bits I've heard of Christina Perri - A Thousand Years:

Just found this on Youtube regarding Ed Sheeran's perfect's similarity Charice's "As long as you're there". Does sound a little similar.

Does sound like 'A Thousand Years'
Love his latest one by the way!
This is his latest one isn't it? His version (without beyonce ) is the current number 1- although it has been out for over 6 months- and He has had so many singles out simulatenously this year that it's hard to tell
The YouTube vid you posted, FF makes it crystal clear ... RIP-off
Yes on his own, I heard it for the first time today on a music channel.
If it came on the car radio I'd change stations.
The more I listen, Talbot, the more I agree with you.
This mashup clip also shows the similarity between Perfect and the R Kelly track i mentioned
Well Mr. Sheeran well done, perfect first dance song for bride and groom at their wedding :-)
