My partner and I hope to get married next year. However, my partner is now divorced. He is catholic, I am christian. Can we get married in church with him being married previously? Have searched the net and can't find any clear answer. Please help! Thanks.

It depends on the vicar. Attitudes are changing within the church towards people re-marrying. The church doesnt have a blanket agreement 'across the board' that divorcees shouldnt get married at church. The decision is at the discression of the vicar of the particular church you wish to get married at.

Most churches will baptise the child of an unmarried couple, which is obviously against the teachings of scripture. Tut these are changing times and the church realises it must change with them.
depends on the curch and the vicar.I have had friends who are divorced and get married in a regular Cof E church and also a United Reform church.
you can remarry, but not in a catholic church
sorry thought you were asking if he can remarry!! duh!!!

as the previous answers have said, it depends on the church but the catholic church wont allow you to marry in a catholic church
Some c of E wont either. If you attend your vchurch regularly you might find your vicar symapthetic to your situation and willing to marry you. I also think just turning up for a few weeeks and then just jumping straight in is obvious.
A lot of Anglican churches are now marrying divorcees because the number of marriages performed in churches is dwindling ~ mainly since the places you can now marry in have expanded in numbers. Many people are now marrying in hotels, castles or abroad.

You won't be able to marry in a Catholic church, but some CofE churches will allow it, or you can try a methodist, Baptist or United Reformed Church. As has already been said it bascially depends on the vicar, pastor or reverend ~ not the church itself.

Good luck - let us know how it goe!!
You can get married in Scotland - thats why Princess Anne came up to Scotland to get re-married.(What a stupid example -but its all I could think of)
Some CofE churches will let you re-marry if you (or your partner) were the innocent parties in the divorce. Good luck
