It seems that after an alcohol soaked weekend I offended Ward~Minter.
Although quaffing copious amounts of beers/gin+tonics/port is no excuss for rudness, I cant think what came over me, (it was spending time with ex comrades from my Army days) I would like to offer my sincere unreserved apologies to Ward~Minter.
Sorry old man, it wont happen again

John, WM is away for a few days....but I'm sure he will see this when he gets back x
Question Author
Is he? if I'd known I would have saved it for his return, still, never mind, I imagine he'll read it somewhere in cyberland
he has a little lead he plugs into his arm. does anyone actually know what he does. he's a couple of years younger than me, and i know he went to uni on a military scholarship, apart from that.............
Question Author
Im saying nothing about his alledged military background, suffice to say (after 21 years in the Army) I have serious doubts, however, I promised not to attack him, and I did, hence the apology.
John I know nothing about WM's Military background, but he does have excellent knowledge of Bowie....It's been a lovely week here on B&& (for a change)....great atmosphere.

Yep, I agree, he does know his bowie trivia, hope he enjoys his trip to wherever and comes back refreshed and ready to entertain in his usual manner
he's rock climbing. in camo. with a 40lb bergen.
John I hope you and WM can sort out your differences, you and him could have a right craic on here :) x
Question Author
40lb?
wimp, we carried 65lb in the Infantry, then as a Medic it went up to 80lb,
40lb? easy life!!!!!!!!!!
he's special forces though, carries the bare minimum. he can start fire better than ray mears and likes eating snakes.
Question Author
Not what my special forces friends tell me, they dont do the minimalist thing, their maxim is:-
fail to prepair
prepair to fail, carry EVERYTHING coz you never know when you'll need it
i know, thats what my cousin told me. just trying to keep the laugh going. i'l stop picking on wardy tho, he's not here to defend himself. i'l wade in when he gets back, he's due a ganging up on.!!
Question Author
Snakes taste like chicken, I've worked with but never been in the special air service and they taught us some good stuff. that escape + evasion module was mint, and the psycological warfare made my toes curl up. Im glad im British, I'd hate to be the enemy and come up against those guys
my dad was navy and my cousins dad ( my dads brother) was marine (damn leathernecks). they used to wind each other up something chronic. the marine bravado would come out, and my dad would come back with how they'd be to tired to fight without the navy as they'd have no-one to give them a lift.
then they'd just get drunk and bemoan the collapse of the respective armed services.
Question Author
Sound like the W/E i've just had, a few Para's dropped in (not literally) and the usual birdsh!t/cr@phat banter went on but as always we ganged up on the Navy/Airforce girls and toasted the glorious grunts
Question Author
Im shattered, time for bed, im giving myself tomorrow off to recover (just kidding, I dont trust my minions to run the business for a whole day, I'll be in the office at 1400hrs)
Nigh night everyone
xx
I missed all that john ~ but just wanted to say hi as I haven't seen you for a while!
