Yes, it's always a bit sad when I hear that and this year I will feel the same way when I hear the George Michael song.
Know what you mean. No reason at all, just dead, for swimming.

Yep.
I am a Pogues fan and Kirsty fan and her sudden death was sad and still is.
When Shane was booted out of the band, Joe Strummer took over live vocals. And he too died early
McGowan always seemed close to death, so him out living Joe and Kirsty was very improbable.
Though so, we are near the anniversary of both their deaths.
McColl 18th December (2000)
Strummer 22nd December (2002)

Why do the good die young.
The Pogues (with Joe Trummer) - London Calling.

I loved her voice - her vibrancy and her humour was an added bonus.
Kirsty McColl and Billy Bragg - New England.

Kirsty suffered badly with stage fright. Odd with someone so talented.
I saw her live in about 1982 and she was a bit rubbish. But I was forunate to go and see her in in october 2000, shortly before her death, and she was fantastic.
Two good links there. Thanks gromit.
I think what is really sad is that so many people only know Kirsty McColl for that dreadful dirge she made with the dreadful Pogues which drags itself out every Christmas.

She was so much better than that.
terrible waste, feel sad too when you hear their song.
