While Armado Iannucci's is currently receving plaudits for his new film, The Death of Stalin, I have yet to hear an interviewer, or anyone else, mention that this has all been done before with the irreverent and comedic Red Monarch, 1983, covering precisely the same ground.

The funniest thing about this film is the protest by Russia's "culture" ministry, that it's a plot to destabilise their country!!
A more apt reflection on Russia's messed up perspective on its own history would be harder to find
Haven’t seen the Red Monarch, but really looking forward to catching The Death of Stalin.
