I have an enormous conservatory(probably about 25ft x 17ft) and I like to work in there. But it is perishing cold (sun isnt getting on it until later in the day).

Any recommendations for a portable heater? I am not sure whether to go for calor gas or an electric fan heater.

It's well ventilated and I have a CO2 alarm thing.

Oooops sorry, dropped a big clanger here. Mine is an oil filled radiator which you plug in to your electricity. Similar to this.

Thanks all. Some food for thought there. But so far the electric radiator sounds like the best option. At least I could stick it on in the morning just to keep the chill off and when (if!) the sun comes up it will turn itself off.

I reckon calor may be out as I'd run out and then keep forgetting to get a refill and I do live in the sticks. Which reminds me, I must order some heating oil.

It's lovely in here atm now the sun has got on it. I just open a door or a couple of windows to stop me (and ASBO) from overheating. And we can still hear the birds and the wind through the trees.
Small electric blanket cover will warm you in arctic conditions.
Flowerpot candle heater.
For the last three years I have heated my conservatory with two separate flowerpot heaters. (One smaller ceramic pot inside a bigger one, and heated with tea lights,- very successful.) Don’t know how to do a link to this but Google has loads of examples.
I have some small halogen heaters cost 4p an hour to run and give out lots of heat
