I have just received a copy of an advert for a temp job in a school.. The advert says "You will be Teaching Literacy and Numerousy..." It doesn't say whether I'd be teaching these to the pupils or to the Head/HR department...

I frequently review important documents and it never fails to amaze me how many simple errors I pick up on, both spelling and grammar.

In this 'numerousy' case I'm pretty sure the error was made by a typist at the final stage or by somebody in the recruitment agency taking instructions over the phone and someone failing to proof read the finished product.

Mikey's point about a spellchecker reminds me of when I saw laminated posters on a wall advising "use you're spellchecker".
Oi jno, you're using our family dictionary, with or without the p! OH had his pupils convinced that he had those dictionaries personally printed for them, as well as the pencils bearing his name.
My favourite apostrophe example was a brand new Mercedes Sprinter van in Stockport, the writing on the side announced that it was carrying Bridal Dress'es', must have cost a fortune to have it done.
Plea'se don't start me off on spuriou's apostrophe's!
