Equalizer When Not In Itunes

Using iTunes, I find the Equalizer very handy.
Sometimes, playing words or music just through Safari, I feel the lack of the Equalizer functions. Apart from recording the stuff in Safari and then playing it through iTunes, is there any way (on my Mac) of using an Equalizer other than through iTunes?
