Noticed that the crusty old newsagents near my childrens school is still selling all the recalled chocolate including the ever so popular Freddie Frog bars.

I guess most parents have heard about the recall but this crusty old man clearly has not as still got the bars for sale.

Should I say something and risk being taken apart by the limbs as he is an old goat or is there a number I could ring and let someone know. Now I sound like a sad old git with nothing better to worry about than Freddie Frog Bars. LOL

write a letter and include a copy of the article. tell him you are giving him chance to remove them before you report him.

he either knows and doesn't care or he hasn't heard yet -either way its best he knows that other people know about it.

when thngs like this happen there is a paper trail, suppliers, wholesalers etc so i expect whoever he bought them off has been in touch with him by now.

he will get refunded so there is no reason for him not to stop selling them - unless he has been told to dispose of them himself....

there is also a chance that this an old box that isn't included in the recall?
As the recall is precautionary and the levels involved are way below health risk ones I'd say that mention of the police was way way over the top.

Personally I'd not heard about the recall until you posted and I went and looked it up - chances are he's not even had a formal notification yet.

I imagine he and many others will still have Turkish Delight, Caramel and many of the others on sale.

I'm not sure who you'd report him to, it's a recall I doubt it will have the force of law behind it - I guess you could report him to Cadburys.

I'd just ask him if he's heard about the recall
Most outlets still have all of the offending bars on sale and I'd guess that this is because they are from different batches. I can't see Tescos risking it even if your crusty old news agent did, so I reckon that retailers probably have details of which batches are affected. Coupled with the fact that Cadbury's didn't alert anyone for four months I would imagine we've nearly all eaten something affected.I had a caramel this morning and tbh didn't think anything of it until you posted, as I assumed it was o0nly certain batches.

Does anyone really think that I was actually serious when I said Freddie Frog Police and that I meant I was going to contact the police LOL LOL

Sorry if I gave that impression. Hey I am not that bad. I just would not be surprised if the crusty old devil kept on selling them because he could not be bothered to walk round and move them.

Just a bit concerned as so many children buy them as only 10p.

NO WAY would I call the police for that. I would still like to think I am sane. LOL

:c)

Well if you will post a question entitled Freddie Frog Police....

I'd bet there are people who would though ! - who'd be a desk sergant these days?

whilst involving the police might be over the top, according to midlands today environmental health officers are involved in reminding retailers of the recall, and the word "prosecution" was mentioned by a council official in connection with those not taking their responsibilities seriously.
I may be wrong but I thought it was Freddie Frog Easter Eggs which were recalled.
are they really old coz theres the freddos and caramel freddos that were previously called tazos, im only 15, were they changed like snikers/marathon or are freddie frog bars totally different and im soundin like an idiot
I thought freddos were choc and taz were the caramel ones,,anyway our supermarkets have withdrawn them but our local shop is continuing to sell ALL the recalled bars!
And at present i am in middle of eating a BIG cadburys turkish bar!
Willspal, you are no pal of mine.
Unlike your Supermarkets most likley the small trader isn't given the support from Cadburys that they enjoy. I guess their Rep's are sent out to these outlets to remove the offending products from the shelves or they receive information what needs to be removed. The small trader does not enjoy this service, he has to find out himself, by reading a newspaper or tuning into a radio or TV. Even then the information of what were the offending bars was sketchy, it was even difficult to find out this information on the internet. So before you call him the Crusty Old Newsagent, just try and understand what he has to put up with on a daily basis, not only all the increasing rules and regulations he has to put up with. But also all the flack that he has to put up with from some customers, they would not dream of going up to a Supermarket Till Operator and complaining, for example that they cannot find a certain product, and if it is not on the shelf why not, and when will it come in? Also the constant telephone calls complaining if their newspaper is not delivered at the time they expect it to be, and their newspaper is wet even though the poor newspaper lad has turned out in torrential rain to deliver it to yet another old moaner.

He is one v v rude man and I ask myself why he bought a Newsagents shop where he would actually have to serve and speak to people.

You speak like you know him and that you know all about the people that go into that shop and are rude to him. Well let me tell you its the opposite in that shop and most of the small rural community that he serves know it and just accept the old goat for the bad tempered old fool he is.

He reads the Daily papers every day so surely he has seen the headlines ( I mean it was plastered all over the DM on Saturday of which he sells many) so how anyone in his business could say in all honestly that they don't know Cadburys have had a recall is beyond me. He also has the radio on in the shop all day so he would have heard it on the news.

I doubt he gets phone calls about papers not being delivered as he does not offer a delivery service so before you defend people you don't even know get your facts staright.

No PAL OF MINE
No I do not know this Newsagent., that is just a stupid thing to say since there must be thousands upon thousands of newsagents throughout the country. I was just generaiising. But I do know of people just like you, that are so cowardly they do not dare approach the person involved, with their gripe themselves, and are not even sure enough of their convictions but have to turn to web sites such as this to ask for advice on whether to contact the police or not over the matter. If as you say this person is indeed a rude and bad tempered old fool, then his customers always have the option to stop using his shop he will then soon go out of business, problem solved.

Like I say if you honestrly think I would be sad enough to contact the police over a bit of bloody chocolate then you are a fool.

Whats all this 'No PAL OF MINE' business anyway.

Perhaps you are the daft old goat himself, you certainally seem silly enough and defo rude enough to keep a shop.

Me a coward ????????????? Sorry thats another thing you have badly wrong.

Lets forget it now shall we, I can't be bothered getting in an arguement about a flamin bar of chocolate and bad tempered old men who keep newsagents.

Bye bye.
