For some reason, I have suddenly started getting a pop up for the above every time I try to access a site I use. It says I need to install this free player to view use the site. I have just been closing the box but it is getting annoying. Is it safe to download or is there a way I can get rid of it? Thank you.

Macromedia has just released a new Web plug-in. Maybe this is what you are being asked about. You should get a small light grey circle with a large lower case "f" in the tray, next to the clock in the right hand lower corner when this happens. However, do be careful as some naughty sites try to get you to download porn diallers and the like.

Thanks Hippy. I tried to do a search on Answerbank before I posted this and nothing relating to macromedia came up.... tried again once I had posted this question, and another q came up as well as mine! So, sorry that this has been asked before. I am just a bit wary of downloading anything these days, even though I have 2 anti-virus programmes!
