I have 2 8 week old kittens. One uses the tray all the time but the other one will go anywhere but. I have used the usual methods to stop her reoffending, freshly ground pepper, citrus skins etc and biological washing powder to take the smell away. It is doing my head in to tell the truth. Can anyone help me and yes, I do put her in the litter tray often and the litter is fresh as well as the tray being big enough. I have already looked through many sites and previous question. Just wondering if someone out there has a method that may work for me
Thanks in advance

You mention "the " litter tray?..Do you have the one for both of them? When our two cats were younger,we used to have 2 trays,in case they preferred one each. That way they would have a tray that had their smell only, and, you could also place it in a slightly different area. Hope things improve!
I would use more litter trays. It is always good to have one more tray than cat. You may want to get her to the vet. Frequent urination could be a bladder infection. You can try placing a new litter tray where she has beed going in the house. Is she stressed by loud noises or anything like that? You may want to confine her to a room with her litter tray until she figures it out. A bathroom or laundry room would work well.

there is a spray that you can get in pet shops that you spray into the litter tray and it helps train kittens to use the tray , I can't remember what it's called but the pet shop will be able to help you. I used it for my two cats when they were kittens and they never went anywhere but in the litter tray so I know it works good luck
I agree with the first two answers. Cats like to have their own toilets, and don't like to use an area that smells of another cat's doings!

Thank you to all who have answered. I have tried the 2 litter trays approach and it is having limited success ............. but baby steps lol. I have also read about freshly ground black pepper which I am now grinding liberally in all the various places she choses to go. Again thank you for your help.
