I have a burning sensation in my foot, it feels as if someone is sticking red hot needles in the top of my foot and it's like an electric shock. I get this every so often and can go months without anything. It keeps me awake at night as well. Any suggestions as to what it could be, any help would really be appreciated. Thanks
Many of us put up with things, putting it down to age or whatever. I used to get bad calf pains which could leave me limping. Nothing to show the GP when they were gone, no desire to limp there, or maybe simply didn't get around to it, when they were present. Strangely not occurred since I left work. Umpteen other different symptoms though. I could engage a GP all morning if allowed to.
No big deal.......this is known as Dorsal Neuritis, compression of the nerves of the foot due to many conditions...e.g.cyst, ganglion, boney spurs ( bit s of bone) etc.
I presume that you do not suffer from diabetes?
See you GP who will refer your to a Podiatrist or Orthopaedic surgeon.
