I have an underground bees' nest in a flower bed near my front door. I have nothing against bees and I don't want to kill them but I would like them to find somewhere else to live. What can I do to encourage them to leave?

Hi
According to a 'pest' expert on local radio, you should contact the police ,who will have a list of beekeepers. A disease has killed a large number of bees and a beekeeper will be only too glad to come and remove them for you. Good luck!
I once had bees nesting in my lawn and rang the police who sent a bee keeper who was very dismissive as they weren't honey bees but wild bees. He said to kill them with wasp killer. I was horrified and of course didn't. What I did do was to keep lifting the lid of the nest, about once a day, they would all come out and fix it but they must have got fed up as they never came back after that first summer.
Have a read of this link; it will probably help you or, at the very least, interest you.
