we have symantec anti virus stuff on our pc as well as the NTL protection that comes with the oradband, however through using some music download software we've managed to pick up a virus.

we ran the virus/de-bugger and it said it deleted over 3000 infected files, I ran it again and it keeps saying there are 10 infected files but it isn't listing them or deleting them (depsite ticking the 'delete infected files' button)

how do i get rid of them - it says 'trojan' in the description and I know this is some sort of spyware. I am nervous to use my PC now and don't know how to sort it - any ideas please?!

Try running the anti-virus scan in safe mode
Best to switch off your system restore before scanning as any restore point from the time you picked up the infection will include the virus.
Previous comments are valid. If you disable system restore you will lose all previous valid restore points.
As an alternative you could also try A-Squared free version. Highly rated for that type of problem. Needs to be updated manually.
