My Legend Vantage Gas fire has been declared unfit for use because of 2 broken 'coals' which means I have to buy complete set costing approx. £85. Can anyone tell me albeit roughly what a certified gas engineer would charge to reconnect my gas ? I live in the South West

I have no knowledge of exactly what he has done except that he said it was disconnected and I tried and there is no supply of gas, to the fire, but my gas boiler is operating alright. I am trying to weigh up whether it is cost effective to have it reconnected plus new coals or to say goodbye and buy an electric plug in fire.
