I am thinking of using contentteller as a CMS for a clients website but as it is my first client that needs a CMS i'm pretty unsure of what to do.

As i understand it, with most CMS you have to stick to templates, which is restricting to the design. the website will have certain sections where thumbnails can be viewed of the clients products. this is what i want to apply the CMS to so the client is free to add and subtract the products with ease.

Does anyone have any idea about the above question or have a good solution or CMS they would like to recomend.

many thanks.

Dunno anything about ContenetTeller, but it's certainly possible to set up a site that allows CMS on only certain pages. Most CMS systems allow the admin to dictate which pages may be edited by authorised users, but in any case the entire site doesn't need to be managed by the CMS system.

You can design your main site and in the menu call pages that are managed by the CMS, and also have the managed pages return to your own non-managed pages.
I use this fella:

CMS Builder. This is great if you want complete control over the page design as you basically design and code your managed pages using whatever tools you would normally use (e.g. Dreamweaver). Then you just copy and paste (and tweak, if you want) some generated code into your pages at appropriate points. It uses PHP and MySQL.

The actual editing pages that your authorised users see are completely generated by the system (but you can customise and rebarnd them to a certain extent), whereas the site pages are completely designed by you.
Built.io Contentstack (https://www.built.io/products/contentstack/features) and Contentful are some of the best ones in Headless CMS, which basically allows you to maintain a centralized repository for content, on the other hand, you have the liberty to select a flexible and better-performing service where your content can go. Headless CMS maintains your content in a separate and distinct manner that you can access using APIs.
