Does anyone know if he is ill? He appears unkempt with the beard and filthy fingernails.
I notice his wrist is strapped up but it is obvious many of the experts on this programme have manicures because they know their hands are going to be shown in close detail on high definition large screens.

I do hope he is ok, he is one of my favourites on the show.

He seems to have changed dramatically in a few short years, I noticed that too.
He is a true eccentric and the subject of his fingernails has been spoken of, he loves to dabble in the garden.

His hands seem to shake at times. I am hoping he has not got Parkinson's.
Oh that's a shame, I hope he's ok. I haven't watched the AR in ages but I've always liked David & he was always so immaculate.
I do hope he's ok, I love him. I had noticed the change as well, thought his hair was a bit scruffy now as well.

The wild hair and full beard is not a good look for him.

Eeek! Not improved in this series.
Yes he had an accident and it resulted in eight operations and massive problems. It is amazing he is still alive. See this: http://www.antibioticresearch.org.uk/david-battie-star-of-bbcs-antiques-roadshow-writes-to-support-antibiotic-research-uk/
