some years ago i came across a version of wedding day in trondheim. it was a hilarious version of those at the wedding singing the song and slowly becoming more drunk. singing out of tune and the orchestra playing out of tune and eventually becoming an amazing rendition of the song as if by an orchestrated choir of drunken singers. it was hilarious and i would love to find it again. i have tried googling "drunken version" etc to no avail. does anybody out there know of it and if so where i could find it on you tube or something? any information would be very much appreciated. thanks in advance

can't seem to find anything on youtube that fits the description.
I remember that piece, not the drunken version, being played by Edward Heath when he was PM and passed himself off as a musician. It was so wooden it was funny. Almost as funny as when he tried to speak French. Cringe, you betcha.

hello emmie, no i have tried every combination i can think of, drunken version, pickled choir, out of tune version. i can't think of another way to express it. but no trace, someone else muct have come across it, many years ago it was featured on the radio and the tv as a spoof version on light hearted or comic programmes, however it certainly must still be out there somewhere
There was only one classical pianist who had the talent to mangle pieces like this and that was the late, great Victor Borge. I'm not saying he performed this piece, but God, was he funny.
Question Author
no it was not victor borge, i have followed victor borge for years he is as you say very funny and very clever to boot, it wasn't edward heath either although he could also mangle a piece or two. this version of trondheim was by a bunch of tipsy guests and a tipsy orchestra slowly building up to the most amazing rendition. it was obviously very cleverly orchestrated and must have gone through a lot of rehearsals to get it "perfected". it would be wonderful if someone could track it down. thanks for your reply
