Just rec'd a fundraising email from Alan Mabbutt OBE
Registered Treasurer and Director General of the Conservative Party

1, Donate £35 today and we will send you a limited edition 'Plan for Britain' mug and tea towel as thanks
2, Donate £25 today and we will send you a limited edition 'Plan for Britain' mug as thanks
3, Donate £15 today and we will send you a limited edition 'Plan for Britain' tea towel as thanks
I think the operative word in those options is 'Mug'
Yes I do support them, but not at those prices, I feel slightly insulted that I am supposed to think this is good.

Ask them if they are made in Britain too.

Does seem steep but if it's a fund raising exercise they aren't going to have margins of a few pence. Maybe some supporters will say keep the towel and mug and accept this £5/£10 donation
You know, I was tempted, just for a couple of seconds !
They are not in the business of flogging mugs and tea towels - it's a fund raising exercise with promotional goodies.

It's an insult to registered donors, I donate monthly, you would think they would know who to target.
Might be worth letting them know how you feel - or just press delete (or report as spam)

Agree, will def. let them know.
Ask them if they are made in Britain too.

Good point Mamya.

Here it is.
It clearly states it's a donation although they should tailor the email to say "we know you already donate generously but as the May elections approach we are hoping..."

Have just emailed Alan to ask where these items are manufactured, will C & P any reply here.
I'll be willing to make a bet that they are not made in the UK!
It was more out of curiosity I made the point - am not a very political type and not wishing to have a pop at any Party.

You're going to love this then. My son recently went to Brussels...paid for by the Tory party!! All we had to pay was his train fair to Euston. He doesn't even support Conservative.
I take it they haven't replied?
I thought you'd grab the chance to use the mug as a celebration receptacle , for when you toast the conclusion of your latest building works ?
You donate to political parties ? - Crikey
